SSSC NQSW website

The Scottish Social Services Council have launched this new dedicated website for NQSW in Scotland, their employers and their managers/supervisors. There is specific information and relevant resources for these different audiences. We hope the website will help support consistency for the NQSW experience in the supported year in practice. The website will evolve as we develop our national project and we will be using the website to keep everyone up to date.

If you are an NQSW you can go straight to the most relevant material for you. We will be continuing to develop the resources that are available in 2021-22. There will be a range of information to begin with that we will add to.

Throughout the website we have included reflective questions on key practice areas and you can also download these questions in a journal format. You can adapt this journal to suit your own style.

We’ve included useful ideas for NQSW, managers, supervisors and employers throughout the website. We have also included resources and tips that have been shared by other NQSWs that we’ve spoken to as part of our development work. You will find information and links to resources linked to key practice areas as well as new resources and information that we have written directly for the website.

For NQSW you will be able to find clear information about the formal registration requirements. There is also a new suite of resources to help you get the most out of professional supervision.

We will also have a section supporting transitions from qualifying social work programmes to employment as an NQSW.
